Dr.Marrugo was born in Colombia but raised in South Florida, and spent most of her free time working in an emergency clinic at a local clinic when she was at college. She attended the Florida Gulf Coast University for her undergraduate studies, and majored in Biology. Dr.Marrugo spent her summers with her family and working through hurricanes in south florida and learning as much as she could about veterinary medicine.
After undergrad, she moved to Gainesville and attended veterinary school at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where she focused her education on shelter animal medicine
Dr. Marrugo has a special interest in shelter medicine , dermatology and surgery.
In her free time, Dr. Marrugo enjoys watching horror movies , hiking, cooking, and spending time with her friends. She also loves spending time with her pets, Jagger and Guinness.
Dr. Marrugo is Fear Free Certified and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Marrugo is also proud of her hispanic background, as being bilingual !
