Dr. Lissette López Santiago was born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. From an early age, her family exposed her to a wide variety of animals from chickens to horses that inculcated the fondness to animals that drive her career today. Dr. López Santiago completed her bachelor’s in veterinary technology at the University of Puerto Rico. She continued her education by completing a dual degree doctorate in veterinary medicine and master’s in public health, at the University of Missouri.
Dr. López Santiago’s interests include small animal surgery, clinical pathology, internal medicine, and pocket pets. Along with her high school sweetheart and now fiancé Miguel, she enjoys cooking, being by the beach, visiting aquariums and has even taken on sewing as her newest hobby. When Dr. López Santiago is not at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her beloved dog Lucy and her lovebird Mochi.
